The Cobra 148 GTL is both an AM and SSB capable cb radio. This mobile packs 40 AM channels and 40 LSB and USB. Many consider the Cobra 29 line as their flagship radios, however the Cobra 148gtl adds more with its Single Sideband channels. This one sure has a nice, clean look to it, but with SSB you have more options with talking to the locals, truckers, or long range skip. Due to the nature of SSB, (less noise and higher talk power) you can often reach further distances that what's possible with AM operation. We have several Cobra 148 GTL mobile radios in stock. When running the Cobra 148 GTL in the car, on SSB a steady voltage is more critical so it may be best to wire directly to the car battery as opposed to using a cigarette adapter.
